You will be working for a well-established global leading company that is agile and dynamic and that specialises in the provision of credit insurance and risk management solutions for corporate clients cross-industry regardless of their size.
Based in Sydney, you will be responsible for overseeing all Risk Management functions in the ANZ region reporting to the Regional Head of Risk Management, APAC who is based overseas.
You will identify strategic, credit, financial, operational and reinsurance risks that the company may be exposed to with a consistent approach to the overall business strategy and you will develop and implement precautions and revise current guidelines. In addition, you will support the business as the Second Line of Defence to ensure the effectiveness of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework all the while ensuring the ANZ region is compliant with local risk regulations and rules. The role:
Ensure the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework in ANZ is efficient and compliant with the risk management framework set out by the regulators as well as internal policies and procedures
Review, update and disseminate the local risk policies and standards on a regular basis when required
Review the Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA) program and conduct risk mapping. Track action plans and agreed control improvement
Oversee operational incidents to ensure that appropriate escalation takes place and mitigation is actioned
Review and oversee the effectiveness of local Business Continuity Plan
Lead the ICAAP Process, review the quantitative solvency assessment provided by the appointed Actuary with the internal stakeholders and prepare ICAAP submissions
Ensure quality and timely regulatory submission and internal risk reporting such as reporting to Risk Committee
Other risk management activities as and when required
To be successful in this role, you need the following essential criteria:
A Graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance or Accounting with a Major in Risk Management or Actuarial Science
First class communication skills both written and verbal
Sound knowledge in APRA and RBNZ operational risk management requirements
5+ years’ solid experience in Risk Management/Compliance/Audit, gained in insurance and/or financial institutions
Experience in ICAAP/Credit Insurance/Non-life insurance is preferred
Knowledge in cybersecurity governance framework is a plus
Strong analytical and communication skills
Ability to multi-task in a deadline driven environment
Well organised with an eye for detail
Good team player, able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels
